WAYS Natural Sciences Department (NSD) and Regional Unit of Turkic States (RUTS) were involved as co-organizers in the following events: World Space Party – Yuri's Night, which was held on 12 April 2005, and the Tusi Summer Astronomical School (TSAS) and Young Scientists Regional Conference on Astronomy and Space Physics (YSRC), which took place betwwen 3-8 July 2005, at Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory in Azerbaijan. The School and the Conference were supported by the Azerbaijan National Commission for UNESCO, the Euro-Asian Astronomical Society, Natural Sciences Department and Regional Unit of Turkic States of the World Academy of Young Scientists, the Space Association of Turkic States (SATS), the Baku Lyceum "Zangi", the "World Medicine" LLC, the "FINAL" and the Y. H. Mammadaliyev Foundation. They were partially devoted to the 100-years anniversary of academician Y. H. Mammadaliyev as a part of UNESCO celebrations of this jubilee. The Summer School and the Conference were good opportunities for young scientists, Ph.D. Students and university students from Azerbaijan as well as for those coming from different countries of the region to improve their international collaborations and exchange knowledge on the last achievements in astronomy. The program of School and Conference covered almost all of branches of astronomy and space physics, including astronomical education, popularisation of science with invited lecturers from Germany, Georgia, Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan. Although it was a scientific event, but the experience showed that it gave a unique chance for contact-making, exchange of ideas between adherents, and enhancing participation of youth in cooperative projects and especially in SATS, WAYS activities.
